Jerry Weedon's practice focuses on litigation and business practice including all aspects of insurance, automobile and trucking liability, business torts, premises liability, real estate, foreclosure and banking law, products liability, mechanics liens, estates and trusts, contracts, corporation and transportation law.

Mr. Weedon attended Washington & Lee University, where he received his B.A. and graduated with honors in 1970. While attending Washington & Lee University, Mr. Weedon was the President of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity and was a member of Who's Who Among American Colleges and Universities. He then attended the University of Florida where he received his J.D., with honors in 1976. Mr. Weedon is a Distinguished Naval Graduate from the Naval O.C.S. He served as a U.S. Navy Aviation Intelligence Officer from 1971 to 1974. He is retired from the U.S. Navy Reserve.

Mr. Weedon is admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth and Eleventh Circuit; the U.S. District Court, Northern and Middle Districts of Florida and all other Florida Courts. Mr. Weedon has practiced law with Marks Gray since 1976. He is a member of the Jacksonville Bar Association, The Florida Bar, American Bar Association, American Bar Foundation (Fellow), Atlanta Claims Association, Jacksonville Claims Association, Defense Research Institute (a member of its Board of Directors from 2002-2005), American Board of Trial Advocates and was named by that group as “Lawyer of the Year” for 2002, Board Certified: Civil Trial Law, Board Certified: Business Litigation Law, Martindale-Hubbell "AV" rating, and Who's Who Among American Business Executives. Mr. Weedon is a member of the Florida Defense Lawyers Association, where he served as a member of its Board of Directors from 1995-2002 and as President of the organization from 2000-2001. He is also a member of the Jacksonville Association of Defense Counsel where he was President in 1993. He served as Florida State Chair for the Association of Defense Trial Attorneys, serving on its Executive Council from 1997-2005. He was President of the organization 2003-2004. He was President of the Catholic Lawyer's Guild in 1995. He was named to the 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 Super Lawyers list. Mr. Weedon was recertified in early 2008 by the Florida Bar in Business Litigation. This certification is for the period ending August 2012 and is his second recertification (first board certified in 1997). Mr. Weedon was also appointed to the Board of Legal Specialization and Education grade review panel for a one-year term (2008). This panel is in charge of reviewing petitions to the Bar for certification of individuals for Business Litigation.

Mr. Weedon has been involved in numerous speaking engagements. In September 1999, he gave the "Opening Statement" for the FDLA Young Lawyer's Seminar. In April 1997, he spoke at the Urban Resource Center, Florida Community College, Jacksonville on "Premises Liability - How to Avoid Lawsuits". In September 1996, Mr. Weedon spoke on "Voir Dire" at the FDLA Annual Meeting. In May 1996, he spoke at the Diocese of St. Augustine Law Day on "Premises Liability". He gave the "Opening Statement" in May 1996 at the FDLA Rookie Seminar. In April 1996, Mr. Weedon spoke on "Ethics" at the CPCU Association of Jacksonville. In October 1994, he spoke in Houston, Texas, for the Ranger Insurance Company on "Coverage in Trucking Policies". He is the author of the chapter on “Winning at Mediation” in the Florida Defense Lawyer’s Publication The Defense Speak.

Mr. Weedon has taken an active role in our community. He was appointed by Governor Jeb Bush to the Board of Trustees of the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind in 2007. He has served as a member of the Ronald McDonald House Board of Directors, where he served as Secretary from 1998 to 1999, as Vice-President from 1999 to 2000 and as President from 2000 to 2001. He was on the Board of Governors for the University Club from 1998-2001. He was also a member of Community Relations Commission - City of Jacksonville where he served as Commissioner from 1995 to 1999 and Vice Chairman in 1998 and 1999. He is a member of the Human Rights Commission - City of Jacksonville where he has served as Commissioner since 1999 and is the Chair - Business and Industry Liaison Committee. He served as a member of the Jacksonville Community Council, Inc., a member of its Board since 2000 and served as its President from 2004-2005. He served as President of the Washington & Lee Alumni of Jacksonville, Inc. He is a Leadership Jacksonville Alumnus and a member of St. Vincent's Hospital Foundation Ambassador Board. He is the Chairman of the Board of the Catholic Foundation of the Diocese of St. Augustine /for 2007-2008. He is a Legal Aid volunteer attorney.
