EDWARD P. JACKSON obtained a bachelor of science degree in chemistry at Florida State University in 1975 and graduated from Florida State University College of Law in 1979.
He has a general practice including bankruptcy, probate and civil litigation. Mr. Jackson is board-certified in consumer bankruptcy law by the American Board of Certification and has earned the highest possible AV rating by Martindale-Hubbell. He is also certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Circuit and County Civil Mediator.
Mr. Jackson is a director and past president of the Jacksonville Bankruptcy Bar Association and is a member of the Jacksonville Bar Association. He is also a member the Fourth Judicial Circuit Pro-bono Committee.
Much of Mr. Jackson's time is spent as a frequent bankruptcy lecturer, having lectured for Lorman Education Services, the Family Law Section of the Jacksonville Bar Association, National Association of Tax Professionals, Sterling Education Services, and the Jacksonville Bankruptcy Bar Association. In addition, he conducts monthly volunteer seminars for Jacksonville Area Legal Aid and has done so for several years.
He also is a member of numerous social organizations including the A.A.O.N.M.S., the Archie E. Tucker and Downtown Hi Twelve Clubs, St. Marks Episcopal Church, Ye Mystic Revelers, and the Sinanju Sportsmen’s Club.
Mr. Jackson has tried cases in several legal areas. Bench trials include extensive experience in family law from 1979 through 1999 with trials involving child support, alimony, property, and child custody. Contested probate cases have included several Will contests, including trials lasting multiple days. Other areas of litigation in state court include landlord-tenant, construction, business, repossession, real property partition, quiet title, and criminal.
Jury trials have included repossession deficiency defense (UCC Article 9), commercial landlord-tenant, DUI, motor vehicle repair, Mechanics Lien foreclosure (construction), and personal injury.
He has filed numerous appeals in varied areas, including commercial landlord-tenant, family law, repossession deficiency defense, real property partition, and probate.
Mr. Jackson has had countless trials in bankruptcy court.
